Privacy Policy

How Outdoor Labs LLC collects, uses, shares, and protects information for Campora accounts, trips, maps, location features, photos, invites, analytics, offline access, and support.

This Privacy Policy explains how Outdoor Labs LLC collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use Campora, including our website, app, account features, trip tools, maps, uploads, invites, notifications, and related services.

In this Privacy Policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Outdoor Labs LLC.

Campora is built around personal and shared trip records, so some information you add may be sensitive: locations, dates, camps, photos, memories, companions, and travel patterns. Use judgment before adding information to Campora or sharing a trip with others.

1. Information you provide

We collect information you choose to give us, including account information, profile details, linked phone number when phone verification or text alerts are enabled, optional email address, trip plans, camp stops, dates, notes, ratings, memories, links, attachments, photos, avatars, notification actions, support messages, and account deletion requests.

We may process email addresses or phone numbers for account verification, identity verification, account recovery, fraud prevention, and security, depending on the authentication mode in use. If you choose to add an email address during onboarding or later, we may use it for profile, support, or account-recovery-related communication and verification.

If you provide a phone number or opt in to text messages, we collect and use the number, SMS consent status, opt-in and opt-out records, notification preferences, and related message delivery metadata to send one-time verification codes, account or security notices, trip invite updates, trip activity notifications, and other transactional service alerts you choose to receive.

After phone verification, Campora may show a separate SMS alerts opt-in screen. We record whether the screen was shown and whether you tapped “Enable SMS Alerts” so we can honor your choice and maintain consent records.

Campora text messages are transactional and service-related. We do not use phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent for marketing or promotional text messages.

If you invite someone to a trip, we process the invite status, join-link activity, and related trip information needed to manage membership.

2. Location, map, and trip geography information

Campora may process location-related information when you use map, trip, or photo features. This can include trip destinations, camp coordinates, map markers, place search results, your approximate or precise current location when you grant permission, and location metadata contained in uploaded photos.

We use this information to show maps, center the map on your location, save trip places, organize trip history, support offline/downloaded trip access, and improve trip planning and remembering features.

Precise geolocation can be sensitive personal information. We use precise geolocation only to provide, maintain, protect, or support the Campora map, trip, location, photo, offline, safety, and support features you choose to use, and not to infer characteristics about you.

  • You can deny or revoke device location permission in your device settings.
  • If you upload a photo that contains location metadata, Campora may read and store that metadata for trip-photo features.
  • Shared trip members may see location information that is part of a shared trip.

3. Information collected automatically

When you use Campora, we and our service providers may collect device, browser, app, log, diagnostic, and usage information. This can include IP address, device type, operating system, app version, browser type, pages or screens viewed, referring pages, crash or error logs, approximate location inferred from IP address, and timestamps.

Our marketing website may use analytics tools, including Google Analytics, to understand traffic and improve the site.

4. Local storage and offline data

Campora may store information on your device, including preferences, authentication flow state, cached trip records, downloaded trip snapshots, and other local data needed for offline or faster access.

Deleting the app, clearing browser storage, signing out, or deleting your account may remove some local data, but device backups or shared trip copies may continue to exist depending on your device and account settings.

5. How we use information

We use information to provide, maintain, protect, and improve Campora.

  • Create and authenticate accounts.
  • Create, sync, display, and preserve trip records.
  • Show maps, places, current location, photos, files, notifications, and shared trip activity.
  • Send sign-in codes, identity verification messages, service messages, transactional text alerts you opt into, notifications, email verification links, and support responses.
  • Process uploaded photos and attachments.
  • Provide offline/downloaded access where available.
  • Prevent abuse, debug issues, enforce terms, and secure the service.
  • Analyze aggregate usage and improve Campora’s product and marketing.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect rights, safety, and property.

6. How we share information

We do not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as needed to operate Campora, provide features you choose, comply with law, or protect people and the service.

We do not sell, rent, or share phone numbers, mobile information, SMS opt-in consent, or text messaging records with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

  • With trip members and invite recipients when you share a join link, invite an existing Campora user, or participate in a shared trip.
  • With service providers that help us with hosting, authentication, database, storage, email, analytics, maps, notifications, SMS delivery, payments, app distribution, support, security, and phone verification when enabled. These providers may process phone numbers only to provide services to Campora and not for their own marketing.
  • With app stores or payment processors when you buy paid features or manage subscriptions.
  • With authorities or other parties when required by law or when necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent abuse.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

7. Photos, attachments, and metadata

Photos and files may include metadata such as file name, size, type, dimensions, date taken, GPS coordinates, device-generated metadata, or other embedded information. Campora may process this metadata to support photo galleries, storage, display, sorting, and map-related features.

Avoid uploading content that includes sensitive information you do not want stored or shared with trip members.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Campora, comply with law, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud or abuse, preserve backups, and support shared trip records.

If you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal account information where reasonably possible. Some information may remain in backups for a limited period, in logs needed for security, in records we must keep for legal reasons, or in shared trips where removal would affect other members’ legitimate access to the trip record.

You can initiate account deletion in the app from Settings, or outside the app by emailing support@getcampora.com from the email address associated with your Campora account when possible.

9. Your choices

You have choices about how information is collected and used.

  • You can update profile information in the app.
  • You can revoke device permissions such as location access through your device settings.
  • You can delete trips, photos, files, links, or memories where the app provides those controls.
  • You can leave shared trips or ask the trip owner to adjust membership when applicable.
  • You can opt out of Campora text messages by replying STOP to a Campora text message. You can request text message help by replying HELP. Opting out may limit SMS-based verification, alerts, or other features that depend on text messaging.
  • You can opt out of some analytics through browser or device controls.
  • You can request account deletion from Settings in the app or by contacting support@getcampora.com.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards designed to protect information. No service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.

You can help protect your account by securing any linked email account or verified phone number, your device, and app access.

11. Children

Campora is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Campora, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

12. International users

Outdoor Labs LLC and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.

13. U.S. state privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or information about certain data practices. You may also have the right to opt out of certain uses of personal information.

Outdoor Labs LLC does not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than providing Campora, securing the service, complying with law, or other purposes permitted by applicable privacy law.
